Ginny Van Gurp
I have always been interested in the arts! My hobbies have revolved around crafts, artwork, sewing, and needlework. After marriage & starting a family, my time was limited for my own artwork, but I was always trying to incorporate art at home and in volunteering at church and school.
Once my family was grown I began taking a few art classes and spending more time painting. Watercolors, charcoal, and pastels are all mediums I enjoy, but my favorite right now is using acrylics.
I have entered shows in Lynchburg, Amherst & Rustburg, winning several awards over the years. My artwork has hung in various local galleries, including Art-N-Soul, Lynchburg Community Market, Blue Dahlia Restaurant, Altavista YMCA, Africa house, and Gig Edwards Studio in Roanoke
Serving on the board of the Seven Hills Art Club has given me many more opportunities to pursue my love of painting as well as being able to meet and work closely with so many talented artists!
