Mike Connolly is a self-proclaimed amateur gourd-head who enjoys sharing his knowledge of gourds and gourd projects with others. He has taught classes in North Carolina, Virginia and Pennsylvania. Mike is a retired Naval officer and a retired public school teacher and presently teaches U.S. History and Virginia History in the Virginia Community College System. His previous avocations include stained glass and watercolor. Mike’s gourds have won numerous blue ribbons, one Best-in-Show and one People’s Choice Award. Mike lives in Lynchburg, Virginia with his wife, Gail and near three of their seven grandchildren.
