Robin Williams
Robin Williams became interested in art as a child and took her first lessons at the age of 12 from a local artist who was a friend of the family. Unfortunately, "life" took priority over art and she did not actively begin to pursue this interest again until she retired in 2009. Since that time Robin has taken classes and lessons through many local offerings, which have included instruction and inspiration from fine local artists such as Ed Gowen, Kenneth Weinfurtner, Rosalee Day White, Elizabeth Ford, Betty Leary, Rodney Laughon and Christine Smith. She enjoys painting at home on her own, but feels she still has so much to gain from her experiences in the classroom and from the mutual critique and encouragement of painting with fellow artists.
Robin enjoys experimenting with themes and colors, painting primarily with oils and in a realistic style. She searches for inspiration in everything, from God's beautiful creation and serene landscapes, to architecture, cityscapes and the shapes, shadows and colors of simple everyday objects.
Her art is shown at the Lynchburg City Market with the Seven Hills Art Club, and she has received a first and second placing at the Campbell County Art Show in the past few years.
